Missouri State University is partnering with Microsoft to bring you Live@EDU. This exciting new service will replace Bearmail for all students at the University, but it brings a lot more than just email to the table.
Students can sign up for a Live@EDU account on May 4, 2009 and begin transferring their email, contacts, and calendar items to the new service. This data will not be automatically transferred from Bearmail to Live@EDU and will have to be moved by the account holder.
Old Bearmail accounts will be turned off on September 30, 2009. If you have not yet moved mail, contact, or calendar items to your Live@EDU account, you will no longer be able to access them, so be sure to get all of your data moved before September 30, 2009. To move your messages, consult the Message Migration Guides. These guides require you to have an email client like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, or Mac Mail.
Skydrive is similar to Magenta, in that it provides online storage for documents, but it's so much more. Upload up to 25gb of documents, share them with your friends, and access them from anywhere you have an Internet connection.
Live@EDU will not only help you share documents, photos, and mail with your friends, you can also instant message directly through its web page. Whether you have a group project or just want to post the cleaning list for your roommate, Live@EDU's got you covered.
Mailbox size for students is being increased from 50mb to 10gb of storage space, an increase of over 20,000%! Now you can save, store, and send everything you need. Attachment size is also doubling, from 10mb to 20mb, to keep up with increasingly complex documents and images.
