In August, 2004, Missouri State entered into an
agreement with Microsoft Corporation for system-wide
software licensing.
The following software is included in this agreement:
This contract applies to all computers owned by the
University on all Missouri State campuses --
Springfield, West Plains, and Mountain Grove. This
includes faculty and staff computers, computers used by
student workers and graduate assistants, computers in
classrooms and labs, and those computers in residence
halls that are owned by the University.
This licensing agreement is being centrally funded by
the Office of Information Technology and the Student
Computer Usage Fee budgets from the Springfield and West
Plains campuses. There is no direct cost to any other
University department. This agreement is an annual
contract. The cost is determined each year based on the
total number of full-time and part-time faculty and
staff at all Missouri State campuses that use computers
in their work. Based on projected total software costs
for the included software, this will result in an
overall net savings to the University. By funding this
cost centrally, all University departments should
benefit. Getting Software Loaded onto University
Computers
This agreement also provides an additional benefit to
all University faculty and those University staff who
are considered "technology users" (those who use
computers as a regular part of their job at the
University). These users are granted a license to use
one copy of this software on their home computer for
University-related activities. Please be advised that,
due to lack of resources, the University can not support
home installations of this software. While installation
instructions will be provided, technical support for
home installations must be obtained from non-University
sources.
Be advised that Missouri State faculty and staff are
permitted to use these home licenses only while the
University maintains its license renewal. If at any time
the University elects not to renew or terminates this
license agreement, the software licensed under this
agreement must be removed from all home computers upon
expiration of the agreement.
Adobe Creative Suite and others Adobe products are
available at a discount to departments that wish to
purchase them. Photoshop and Acrobat are two of
the more popular Adobe products.
Individual license's must be purchased for each product.

The majority of enterprise information continues to reside on centralized legacy hosts (Mainframe and AS/400). With the Hummingbird HostExplorer Family, you can connect your enterprise desktops to the business-critical information and applications you need - across all platforms, with no barriers. At Missouri State you may know this as Phoenix and it connects to the I-Series.
A Web browser that features tabbed pages within a single window. The license key may be obtained from any User Support Specialist or open lab on campus.
PC SAS is a statistical program designed for faculty and student use for classroom instruction and academic research and/or course work within Missouri State only.

SPSS' solutions integrate and analyze marketing, customer and operational data in key vertical markets worldwide including: telecommunications, health care, banking, finance, insurance, manufacturing, retail, consumer packaged goods, market research and the public sector. The license allows faculty and staff to obtain a copy for use on-campus and at home.
Spyware grows more sophisticated every day. There's more of it, and it's more malicious than ever before. Webroot Spy Sweeper is internationally recognized for excellence, ease of use and value. With more than 45 awards and counting, Webroot Spy Sweeper is the best-selling computer security software on the market.
Symantec Endpoint Protection is a detection and disinfection program. The software may be used by faculty, students and staff who are on-campus or off-campus. The on-campus version updates its definition files automatically from a central server while the off-campus version requires manual updates.
WebDrive is more than just an FTP Client. By connecting to WebDAV, FTP, or SFTP servers through a virtual drive, files are transferred by simply saving them to a drive letter. There's no need to run a separate FTP client interface. Unlike typical FTP clients, WebDrive lets you open and edit server-based files without the additional download step.
