This document will help you configure Microsoft Outlook
to access your Missouri State Bearmail account using
the Springfield campus Microsoft Exchange server. This is the default method for users on campus
to connect to the email system.
- Click on Start at the bottom left-hand corner of your
screen and select the Control Panel.

- If your screen is similar to the screenshot below,
click Switch to Classic View. Otherwise, go to step 3.

- Double click on the Mail icon. If you do not see the
Mail icon, you have not run Microsoft Outlook before. If
this is the case, you will be able to locate the program
using the Start Menu. It will either be located at the
top of the Start Menu on the left (see screenshot 1) or
under All Programs à Microsoft Office à Microsoft Office
Outlook.

- Once the Mail window has appeared, click Add.

- Type in a profile name of your choice and click OK.

- The "Add new email account" window will open. Check the box labeled "Manually configure server
settings or additional server types." Click the Next button.

- Select Microsoft Exchange from the list and click Next.

- Enter red.edubear.net in the Microsoft Exchange Server field. If your name doesn't already appear
in the username field, enter your Missouri State private ID. Click the Next button the choose Finish.
Note: The @SGF suffix should not be added to your private ID.

- Open Outlook by going to Start, All Programs, Microsoft Office, and choose Microsoft Office Outlook 2007.
Depending on the connection speed and the size of the mailbox Outlook will take several minutes to set up the account.
