Title: Lab Support Administrator

Office: Meyer Library 207

Web site: http://mstublefield.com

Profile: When Matthew came to Missouri State University, he wasn't sure what he wanted to do, but he knew he didn't want to work with computers. His father had served in Intelligence in the United States Army, so Matthew had grown up around computers in the late 80s and early 90s and had been working with them since he was three years old. They were a fun hobby, and something he knew well, but he didn't want to make a career out of it. Despite that, he had served as tech support at his high school and was responsible for four labs, the email server, and the print server. He also took a pay cut to come work for Computer Services User Support as a Lab Assistant in 2003 when he started a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies (in which he enrolled because he liked studying religion and didn't know what else to do). Matthew moved from the Labs to the Faculty & Staff Help Desk in 2005, and in 2006 he realized that he really enjoyed his job and did want to work with computers after all. Matthew was hired full time as a Centralized User Support Specialist in January of 2007, and in October of 2010 he was promoted to Lab Support Administrator. Matthew now spends most of his time writing guides and manuals, scheduling the Lab Assistant student work force, and dreaming up new ways to provide cool services for Missouri State students that invariably result in his workload doubling. He is responsible for this web site, the Experts Documentation Wiki, and making sure no coffee remains in the coffee pot.
