Your computer account at Missouri State University is your unique key to online resources. You can use this account to access your class schedule and grades, your financial aid and balance, your payroll information, and many other helpful topics. As always, you should keep your password secret, keep your password safe.
Step 1: Get an M-Number
Faculty and staff will be given their M-Numbers at orientation, while students should have received theirs by letter prior to registration. If you do not have or know your M-Number, please contact the Computer Services Help Desk by phone at 417-836-5891.
Step 2: Create Your Account
Once you have your M-Number, you can begin the account creation process.
- Verify identity
- In addition, you will be asked to set answers for a few security questions. These answers will allow you to reset your password in the future by answering the security questions.
- NOTE
If you do not enter the address and phone number exactly as we have it on file, we will have to manually review your responses before activating the account.

You will be notified by the alternate email you provide during account creation when your information has been verified.
You will need to complete a form with your address and other personally identifiable information.
Step 3: Change Your Temporary Password
You can always change your password by visiting one of the Computer Services Open-Access Computer Labs.
You can change your password online by visiting the Computer Account Management System. Be sure to use either Domain Option 1 with your old [temporary] password or Domain Option 3 using the security questions you just set.
Step 4: Log in to My Missouri State
Your portal to the University and all of your online resources is the My Missouri State portal. As faculty, staff, or student, this will be your primary point of entry to all Missouri State University online resources.
